Robert Pope
Originally from the small North Devon village of Russia, Robert Pope has travelled extensively and currently resides in Bristol’s cultural quarter of St Werburghs. He is three years into a BA in Professional Photography at the University of Plymouth, having previously made haphazard attempts at BA Geography between 1998 and 2002 at the University of the West of England, and deciding it was perhaps not for him.
Robert is currently photographing Bare Threads at work, and at leisure, as part of his band photography portfolio. This is a follow up to the years of work he undertook photographing the Dirty Whites, before they disbanded in 2008.
Robert takes inspiration from the irregularities of everyday life, unusual situations and locations, and opportunity to experiment wherever possible, ideally using analogue film cameras over digital technology. He has recently been involved in two group exhibitions at Centrespace Gallery and at Photographique. He has published one book with a second soon to follow, which will accompany an upcoming exhibition.
Robert has an upcoming exhibition in Bristol with details on location and dates to follow.
